Audio Connections: Outputs

The DJX-1 has two primary audio outputs. These are used in connection with a stereo,
amplifier, headphones, other personal computer/audio speakers.

On the front of the DJX-1 on the right hand side is a mini-plug headphone stereo jack. You can use this connection for private listening of the keyboard while your playing. You can also use this connection for output to a stereo that only accepts a mini-plug jack. The power output from this Jack is limited and should only be used for personal listening use.

The second audio output is the main output. It is located on the back on the DJX-1 on the far right. It is a 3/4 inch jack, also know as a quarter inch jack or headphone jack. You can use this audio connection with stereo headphones that require a 3/4 inch audio jack. Similar to the professional headphones you might see in a studio or with a DJ setup.

This is also the audio connection that you will want to use with an audio system or monitor if you are playing live performances or recording in a studio. You may need an adapter for some monitor systems and mixers.

For example some professional mixers use an (XLR) plug. In that case you would want to use a 3/4 headphone plug to XLR adapter. If you are using only a stereo with a mini plug jack like on the small headphones that come with a Sony Walkman or portable CD player you will need an adapter that goes from 3/4 headphone jack to mini plug jack.

If you recording to an audio device that requires RCA plug, you will need a stereo Y-plug that splits the left and the right audio from 3/4 head phone jack into left and right RCA plugs.

On the back of the DJX-2 next to the power cord is a 3/4 inch audio jack. You can use this connection for private listening of the keyboard with stereo headphones similar to the professional headphones you might see in a studio or with a DJ setup.

If you want to use this jack with a personal stereo or personal computer/audio speakers that require a mini-plug jack you will need to purcahse an appropriate adapter.

The second and third audio outputs at the main outputs connections. These are located on the back of the DJX-2 on the left side of the keyboard if you are facing it, or on the right side of the keyboard if you are looking at it from the back. These are RCA plugs. One is for right audio and the other is for the left audio output.
