ART is a tool for artists to express their creativity.

ART is a tool for artists to make money.

ART is a tool for artists to exhibit their political stances.

What can art do for us then?

Perhaps it can also be a tool to urge our society to protect the innocent and do justice

to those who are exploited or mistreated

The number of notifications of child abuse or neglect is increasing year after year in Australia. After my daughter's arrival, child abuse has become my central concern for its violent physical, mental damage to victims. The abusers' desire to exploit children as objects is a great sin against humanity, equally felonious to murder.

In 1998, 16449 children came for protection according to the 1999 annual report of theAustralian Institute of Health and Welfare.

Upon creating this page, I talked to several people who experienced traumatic experiences in their childhood or I heard the stories that happened to someone close to them.

One told me that she was just too little and could not express her experience though she recognised something "not right", "something to be ashamed of" was done to her.

The other one actually told her mother what was done to her. The mother confronted the acused molester , who just turned his ears off to her with an excuse that her daughter was a dreamy child.

These incidents happened decades ago before the society established a certain level of education about sexual offences against children and how to protect them.

I just hope those who have had similar haunting experiences will be courageous to talk out loud so as the offenders will be brought to justice. Also, the society will be more alert about this matter for further prevention of insults.

Based on their experiences, I created short poems along with some others dedicating to children including my daughter HANA.
