"Cyberia? I'm not coming here for fun..."
A club house called Cyberia, a place where young people gather, talk, and dance in the midnight to forget something.
There was a boy who was wearing a cap deeply. He bought something from a waitress.
"Accela"
Not a drug, but also not a thing that is legal. It can accelerate human's senses and activate the brain. The boy drank it with a soft drink. Grandually, he accelerated. And in the accelerating consciousness, he saw a
girl.
"Hurry, come to this side. "
In the morning, Lain was walking down the hill to the school as usual. But there was someone staring at her. A man in black with blue eyes... . Lain felt uneasy about it and run down the hill to escape.
Near the school, Alice and the others called her. And heard that they saw a girl just like in Cyberia. She said that she was at home and they approved that. But still they felt impatient about it and decided to go to Cyberia again this night. Lain do not take interest. In the lunch hour, Lain met with a "people who shouldn't exist". One of them, a girl who wears same uniform with Lain, approaches. But that girl's face was mortal already.
Lain closed her eyes to evade from a terror... . In the next moment she opens her eyes, no one was there anymore.
When Lain went back to home, there was a forwarding agent and a carrier were in front of her house. The agent carried in the freights and said to her, "Are these all your's? I envy about it. "But she doesn't understand what he was talking about. So he told her that those are the latest NAVI set. Lain stared at the freights...
That night, she begged her father to setup the new NAVI. Father started to setup and explained about the importance of communication and the demand of highly-developed system to do that.
"Okay, I finshed the setup. Lain, speak to the NAVI. "
Lain spoke, "Hello, NAVI. "From this moment, NAVI belonged to her.
Straight-away, she asked to the NAVI. "Is there any mail?"..."There is no mail for Lain. "
That moment, her portable NAVI rang. A mail from Alice. "Everyone is waiting for you. Alice"
Lain came in front of Cyberia with reluctance. On the way, little kids passed next of her. In the club house, Alice and the other two classmates were waiting for Lain's arrival. They joked around about her childish
fashion. But a sound of gunfire broke into it.
A shriek, a roar, the club house was in a panic. The customers escaped outside and the boy(who drank Accela) with a gun appeared in the hall with corpses, and also, Lain was standing near. Alice came to take her, but Lain doesn't move. Then the light spotted on her. And the boy saw her arrival, started to lose one's self-control.
"Oh, why do you force me to do this? ...What kind of right do you have?...Wired should not interfere the real world... Who are you? "
Lain said to him, "Even at any place, people are connected. "
The boy trained the gun at himself. Next moment, the blood splashed on Lain's face.
