"I don't need parents. Human is alone anyway. Were're...not connected. "
In the dark room, Lain was customizing her NAVI. Her room seems chaotic than before. Lain's father, Yasuo was looking in from the door.
"It's not a queer thing...."
At certain corner of a residential street. A young man was running desperately in the midnight.
And in back of him, a shadow of a little girl was chasing. The man tried to enter his house. But his shivering hands obviate him to do that. The man felt hasty, but in a next moment, the girl's white hand grabs his shoulder. The man looked back. There was a girl's eerie smiling face.
"Gotcha!" The man's shriek followed it.
In Lain's school, students were gossiping about the people commited suicide. The rumor was that the people commited suicide were all a network-game player. So Lain went home at a quick pace and started to get more information about
the "game". The name of that game was... "Phantoma".
Again in a midnight residential street. This time, a boy was escaping from "something".
"It's non of my buisiness anymore.... This place is not the wired."
But the white shadow appeared in front of him. The terror seize him, but he attacks the white shadow like a game. The white shadow dropped on a floor, and the boy was shocked when he saw what he killed. The corpse in front of him was a liittle girl.
"Phantoma" was a simple network-game that uses wired to link the players and offers a place to play a match. But, actually a network-game of a play tag for little children was linked there.
Lain was in front of NAVI as usual. Yasuo warned her,"Wired is a place only for a transmission of information and communication. Don't confuse and mix up with the real world". But the words returned from Lain was unforseen, "That's wrong, there's no clear boreder line. And also, I can go there soon".
The face reflected in a monitor grins.
"Psyche..."Lain internalized it in her NAVI.
Yasuo stopped there and left the room.
Lain was browsing the wired. But somepeople were looking at her. The MIB's. They were looking in her room from the window. Lain found that and threatened at them, "Get lost!" Next moment, MIB's goggle exploded. They escaped from there right away.
And the NAVI said, "Intruder interupted...."
