"Maybe human being is an animal that can't evolve anymore. Just using the body only for their greeds. What a boring thing. There are no reasons to stay as a human. Because,...humans have created an exit for it."
"What are you talking about?" A voice answers Lain`s question.
"Network, It's all about the network, Lain..."
"Who... are you?..."
"Me? I'm...the God"
Mika was walking through the bustling streets. A car smashed near her. A scream, sound from
a siren, chaos. But Mika ignores those.
In the room reflecting the red of a sunset, Lain was there. Talking to a doll, "please tell me a story. " The doll responces her, "what kind of story do you like?"
"Well,... any thing I don`t know." The doll responces with a poker-face,"Anything you don`t know will be a fiction. I can`t tell a wrong thing... How about this? Any event must happen after the prophecy." Lain asks the doll,"Who foretell those?" The doll won`t responce...as usual.
The net news report about the car accident. The accident was caused by the
ditch of the computer.
Lain was walking through the bustling streets. A man hands her a pocket-tissue. Lain lefts the place. Mika, also walking the same street, got the same pocket-tissue.
Mika saw something written inside the tissue. "The hell is full, the deads will lose their place" Mika throws it and tries to forget about it. Then she saw Lain standing and mumbling something in middle of the road. "What is she doing?" But when she thought to leave there, she saw Lain inside the building-monitor. Mika surprised and looked back where Lain was
standing.
...people were walking across the road, Lain wasn't there.
Lain was in the room. Instead of the doll, there was an idol. The Idol says,"prophecy will be carried out, Lain. " Lain felt a doubt, "That`s not a prophecy." An idol responces to it, "No, it is a prophecy. History is not a point on an axis of the time. It`s a line that is connected...by someone. " Lain asks,"Someone?" The idol won`t responce...as usual.
In Lain`s school, the rumor of the car accident was spreading by the students, that the cause of the accident was Lain.
Also, there was a topic about the spam, the prank mail. The contents of the mail is,"carry out the prophecy." And this kind of mail was send to Alice also. Alice says that maybe it's Knights' deed.
Mika was in the arcade. Wandering...escaping from something.The head-light of the car, empty fast-food shop, door of the closed toilet...all of those was telling her,"carry out the prophecy. "
Mika escaped into her house. But again, chaos was there. Another Mika was there. Mika besides her. Lain appears there and asked to Mika,"something wrong?" Mika answers,"...nothing wrong." One of Mika, the surprised one wasn`t there anymore. any...more...
